Default my house for a work holiday party? ( same as 02PG)

Eric just called and told me that he brought up the idea to his boss/coworkers to have the work ( school..he's a teacher) holiday party at our house this year in the last two years there have been contoversies over the price/day/location of the party and no one has attended...so ths bright idea came to Eric!!

Personally I love hosting parties...however...it would obviously have to be a pot luck thing where everyone brought a dish/alcohol, etc...

Also..the only dates that would work would be either dec 14 or
15th......the 15th is my birhtday! I guess that would be fine since in previous years i have gone to his x-mas party on my birthday!

what do you ladies think of this idea?

how many people are we talking??

I wouldn't mind hosting a party at my house as long as it were under 40 people.

I don't know about your house, but 70 would be an awful lot to have in my house. (and we have 3100 sqft)
For our halloween party, we had 30 adults and about 15 kids and it was full but not packed. (if that makes sense) so I think 50 would make it very very full for us and probably uncomfortable if there were more... so I don't know if I'd want a location that made it too 'full' to move around and mingle, kwim?
But maybe your house is better equipped than mine.

I think I've seen her house and its pretty big. If you like hosting parties and people wouldn't mind bringing a covered dish, I say go for it! Those teachers can get rowdy though!!!
