Default pumping question

I posted this on the bf board at the beginning of the week with no response. I hope someone here can help!

Erin is 11 weeks old and started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago. Since she dropped a feeding, I was waking up completely engorged for the first week or so with fevers and I was worried about blockages and mastitis. I have gotten into the habit of pumping right after her first feeding in the morning to relieve the engorgement and saving it for dh to give her in a bottle since he feeds her once a day.
I am not waking up as engorged but I am now able to pump about 8-9 ounces after she eats. Did I increase my supply? I am happy about my freezer stores, but dh thinks that it is crazy that our freezer has been taken over by breast milk! (It is really all that is in there)
I usually pump at night too when dh gives her a bottle but I only get about 5 ounces max.
I am using a madela pump in style advanced and I am not pumping until empty, just until the flow slows down.
Any advice?

Thanks. I am home for the year, so pumping fits into my schedule just fine! I wanted to exclusively breast feed for as long as possible. Right now I have a huge stockpile in the freezer, I am pumping about 2 bottles worth each day and dh only gives her one.

If you don't plan on using the stored milk within the next 3 months, then there's no need to continue pumping. You should only store it in the freezer for 3 months (a deep freezer 6 months).

If you're feeling engorged, it's okay to pump some to relieve the pressure, but your body will continually think it needs to produce those extra ounces if you pump every time.

Remember that your body is a manufacturing plant--it will produce based on demand. If you demand it, it will work to keep up with that.

You may have increased your supply with the extra pumping.

Try to cut back on the pumping and you can allow your body to "gel" with Erin's schedule.
