We don't have any restrictions from the district here at all. but if the kids are going on a feild trip the teacher's ask that we don't send soda, so it dosn't get shook up on the bus and make a huge mess.

if he takes a lunch the rules are no sodas in cans or bottles, no peanut butter (for the reasons Karen outlined), no food items that come with stickers or things like that (found out the hard way when ds took a fruit by the foot that had these "tongue" tattooes

and no candies that contain gum inside of them or candies that cant be eaten in a reasonable time frame (this one always makes me laugh) so, things like jawbreakers are out.

not that i send candy in his lunch anyway, but i still think it is funny.

if there is a fall festival or bday, etc then you can only bring fruits and veggies. cant bring cupcakes or cookies. there is a list of approved food items that you can bring. a little excessive, IMO, but i like the fact that ds wont be eating sweets all day while at school. I just wish i could bring a treat for his bday..like cupcakes because to me, treats are items you dont have everyday.

there is my long response.

We also are only allowed to bring healthy snacks--and if we want to bring cookies, they have to be freshly baked (not store bought) oatmeal. Otherwise, no sweets.
