I dont think they need permission from your ob to have it done. Its a luxury that you are paying for so how can your dr say no?

I had it done with my son and it was the neatest thing ever! We got a video of it and it is amazing to watch.

No, I don't think I need her "permission." I just think they send a letter that it was done. In the FAQ of the place we'd go (provided I get pg again of course) it says they contact your doctor "for you."

She really does know her stuff, which is why I put up with some of her diva-ness, but I could see her denying me an ultrasound later in the pregnancy because I'd had an extra one or something. She does all her own ultrasounds-- she's very possessive of her patients and actually only started having backup coverage in 2006 or 07.

She is the one who refused to induce my 9lb baby at 39 weeks because that would be "preterm."

I've always wanted one, and this would *definitely* be my last pregnancy. Like I said, even the regular u/s pics posted on here are SO much clearer than hers. Oh, and she attributes that to me having "a lot of fat there." But I've seen some chunky monkeys and their u/s pics are clearer than mine. I'm not a get-this-lady-out-of-her-house-with-a crane lady or anything.

i had a few done with Lola and it was a great experience. My OB gave me the go ahead each time (it was 2 times)

when we get pg with #3, we would do it again.

i know there are some who dont like them or believe them to be harmful, so i would say research it and if you feel comfortable then do it! and make sure you post the pics here!

My birthday is kind of close to Christmas, and my mom likes me to think up the gift she is to get me, go buy it, and then tell about 10000 people about it. So the 4d u/s has a big "To Jeanne From Mom Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas" written all over it!
