I know a few people have gone to those places (like Fetal Fotos, etc) where you can pay and get a 3d/4d ultrasound done.
My question is... did your regular ob have a problem with that? I know supposedly the place (at least the place closest to where I am and the one I'd go to) contacts the ob once you go there. My ob is good but kind of old school and kind of a diva. She took over the practice from her uncle, and these u/s machines are DINOSAURS. You can't see ANYTHING. I think she would be pissed if I went and did that but I really really really really really want to.

That is..... IF I can get knocked up again.

I thought about just giving my regular GPs name and address, but she would probably fax the info to my OB, just to be nice!

Interesting. I didn't know they contacted anyone outside their facilities. Do they need PERMISSION from your OB to do it?

If not, I don't see the problem.

I'm blessed that my high-risk OB has state-of-the-art 3D/4D machines and we get those images included in our scans.

I wouldn't think it would be a problem. And if your OB doesn't like it, tough!!

The fact that she would be pissed is obnoxious! If you don't need permission I would go and not give a toot what she says. I mean are you worried that she would ream you out for it later? I don't think my dr would care, but I haven't had one cuz they are too much $$$

They shouldn't be allowed to send your OB anything without your permission. It's a big privacy act no no here in Canada anyway.

My doctor does it at his office. But I don't think he'd have a problem with me going to have it done at one of those other places. I too think it would be a privacy issue.
