Default those of you with 2 or more

Do your kids look alike? DO they have similiar interests?

My two boys could be twins if you looked at their pictures at the same age.

However, to see them live and animated, they look and act totally different! They're both adorable (if I do say so myself) but Josh always looked like a beautiful baby (people still call him a gerber baby) whereas Matthew looks like a Cabbage Patch kid! He's got these huge dimples and you have to crack up when he smiles with all those teeth.

Josh is into wheels, and as much as he tries, can barely catch a ball, and Matthew can ALREADY throw a ball to a person accurately (he uses 2 hands but still)! OTOH, Josh could already hum the tunes to songs at this age, and Matthew isn't doing any of that. Josh sleeps with his socks on and the light off, and Matthew pulls his socks off constantly but will only fall asleep with the door cracked so that some light comes in. Josh is a thinker, Matthew is a doer.

I'm just wondering if most people's kids are this different or if it's just my 2. Sure does keep things lively.

well, I have a boy and a girl - so it's harder to tell how similar they look...

they have same generic characteristics but that doesn't mean much I think.

(hows that for being concise!

I don't think their differences are gender related, I think their personalities are not gender related either.
Sarah has a personality of the typical boy if you get right down to it.

Our next door neighbor has 2 boys the same ages as my 2 kids. Her boys are VERY different too (but look rather similar)
there are many families in the neighborhood that I see often enough to know that their kids look very similar ... relations is obvious, but that their personalities are vastly different.

It is the same in my family - me and my sister are polar opposites. My other 2 sisters (1/2 sisters) are polar opposites of each other too. We all happen to look very different too (IMHO) but people at church get us mixed up all the time

I dunno. We're all different and the same. It all depends on what you're looking at.

See, I see so much of myself in Joshua. He does certain things that I just have to shake my head and take the blame

. Now Matthew so far is my one half brother to a tee. He even sorta looks like him. Do first, think later. Impulsive, impulsive. Of course most 9 month olds are impulsive, but Josh really wasn't. He had to map out all the possible outcomes in his head before doing anything-- which is exactly how I am.

At this point I don't know how "opposite" they are, but just totally different.

My poor Dh is very wishywashy (he's just passive really) which is totally NOT me. (who didn't know that one??

) and so both my kids not only look JUST like me, (Sarah could be a clone of me) but they also act just like me too. Poor DH has left no genetic markers in our kids

My oldest two are like night and day. I call them my polar bears because they are polar opposites. From their appearance, likes and dislikes, personality quirks, learning styles, senses of humor, etc. They fight, fight fight...constantly!
