Smile Jean Luc instead of John Luc
Hiya
I am thinking of calling our new bub Jean Luc if he is a boy but want it to be the proper way of saying Jean and not John. Its so hard to write but hope you understand. Any ideas of how I could write Jean so it actually reflects the 'zzzuuhhh' sound of Jean.
I'm not sure if the French have a name for that 'zzzuuh' type sound. Hope it doesn't sound confusing but if we call him Jean Luc he will be called John and incorrect prounounication will drive me insane!!

Was thinking about Zhon Luc?? But then the Luc mite look a bit naff? Would love your help please

If you want it pronouced Jean-Luc (zhahn) then you should spell it Jean-Luc.

I think most people know that Jean is pronounced "zhahn", and if they don't, they'll learn it when they meet your son. I think a weird spelling just complicates matters.

When I see Jean I think of the pronunciation "Gene". Sorry.
