  • What are your thoughts on mom groups? My older sister doesn't like them because she says it is just a bunch of moms getting together and gossiping, but i've never joined one, so i do not know. Have you ever been in one or are currently in one now? what are the perks? The disadvantages?

    to TBC!

I belong to a playgroup of moms from my church and we get together every Friday morning at different moms' homes or parks when the weather is nice. The kids have fun playing and it's a good opporunity for the moms to get some grown-up time. We also do occasional moms' nights out to dinner or social events. I really like it--it's fun to swap ideas or stories and to connect. Being a SAHM can be very lonely and isolating so finding connection with other moms is a great way to stay in touch with the woman behind the diaper-changer.

  • I would love to find an active "Mom" group! Even though my kids are a bit older I still think it would be fun. I think that sometimes we get so caught up in the kids' lives that we forget our own.

  • I am looking for one too. I had a couple of chances to meet and chat with other expectant moms and I really had great time and learned a lot. And you feel like "someone gets you"!
