I like Holden better with Mike. At least it's a middle name right? I don't like DS's middle name much either... It's Randall after my deceased FIL and I'm just not a fan of Randall but DH required it

Can you use 2 middle names maybe? Thats what I would do. Mike is ok but it sounds a little incomplete. I don't think Michael's an option. When you say Mike in the middle with a last name it sounds better than just saying Colton Mike or Holden Mike on its own. I made some up with S and it sounded alot nicer all together. I like the name Colton best. I think someone named Holden would tire of people thinking it's funny to ask him to "hold this Holden", Not very mean but annoying.

You could always substitute Mike for Micah.

Editing to answer the question. I prefer Colton Mike over Holden Mike.

Ooh, I like Micah.....would your Dh compromise? Oh, I would go with Colten.

When I was thinking of "different" boys names I came up with: Hunter, Connor, Byrce, Aiden....nothing too strange, but not very common either.
