I had to switch my DD a few different times when she was a baby because her tummy couldn't handle certain formulas. We started off on Similac from the hospital and after a few weeks we had to switch to Enfamil AR and that made things worse so we ended up switching to Good Start and that was the one that worked great for us. We also switched bottles a few different times until we could figure out what would work and those were Dr. Browns.

Maybe people can give you gift cards to buy formula? just in case you have to switch you don't want to have a ton of formula you can't use.

I did not formula feed but I while I was pregnant I signed up with lot’s of different programs and got lot’s of coupons and was even sent lot's of sample cans of formula and lot's of coupons from Similac and Enfamil.

good points above, a certain formula may not agree with your little one, so I wouldn't stock up. It's too expensive to waste! :-)
As for bottles, the Dr Brown's have BPA in them so I would stear clear, and go with something BPA free like the playtex drop ins or glass.
I use the nestle good start and have had no problems so far, and use the evenflo glass bottles with silicone nipples.

the hospital chose as my son is a preemie and needed special formula. Most people get advice from their doctor but you can always choose what you think works best for you as far as pricing and brand.
