Default Going back to work - need advice

I am going back to work for a few half days to help out for a couple of weeks while some of my coworkers take some much needed vacation & then am going back out on extended leave of absence. I have some breastmilk stored from the early days when I was ultra-overproducing that I can have my friend give him when she keeps him for me those few days. However I have NO idea how much he is consuming when he nurses. Do I pump in the afternoon during the time he would normally nurse in order to keep up my supply & do I just pump until my breasts feel empty? I am 8 wks pp & I have had such a hard time getting my breasts to regulate down to his demands (they seem to think I a nursing two babies - especially the left breast) & I don't want to over-stimulate. Any advice would be helpful. TIA!

Yes, pump as much as you would if youre feeding your baby. I would put every 2 -2.5 hours at work....I work FT.

I work a full day (well, I will be aagin from April when I go back) and I expressed 3 times a day with my DS, and I'll do the same thing again. Just express when your baby would normally feed and express until your breasts are only dripping a little milk (as opposed to the milk flowing out strongly). I hope that helps!

Yes, that helps tremendously. That's pretty much what I did the three days I worked this past week. Ended up being approx 1 ounce from each side (a little more from the left) so my guess is that baby is generally getting approx 2 ounces per feeding right now. I'll be glad when next week is over & get back into my regular routine with baby, though. I'm going back out on extended leave for right now and I can hardly wait!
