I used that stuff like it was going out of style and never washed it off. The LC said no soap but that when you were rinsing to just sort of let the water run over them.

Yup, it's safe. I used to use it all the time!!! I agree about the soap but even if some did get on the gals Rhiannon never seemed to mind.

Thanks ladies! I did have to let him nurse that side and I was waiting for the "yucky face" and he never made it, so I'm guessing it had no taste to it.

great advice - i'll go along with all of these lovely nursers and say YUP it's safe - don't need to wash -- and correct -- no soap... the little bumps on the side of your aereola produce a waxy coating for your nipples during nursing that protects from all the 'abuse'... soap washes it away (plus can leave yucky tasting residue) blech - ;o)

It's totally safe.

I used to put my Lansinoh tube in a cup of hot water while I showered and then when I got out, it would be more runny than thick and it was easier to put on. I was cracked and bleeding and desperately needed it to go on smoothly. Just a tip.
