  • It does sound like he was having a growth spurt. and i would give karens suggestion a try and as far as the paci goes if he will suck on it and then it pops out of his mouth try putting it in his mouth and then holding him and putting the paci against your chest to hold it in and if it is the closness he is looking for while sucking he will get that and the other good part about this is DH can do it to give you a break. Good luck.

  • I'll try that with the pacifier and see if I can get him to take it that way.
One thing I forgot to mention is that he's being tested for reflux on Monday. Could that play a part in him pulling away while nursing and preferring the bottle?

  • OK i was just reading a book a friend gave me andI thought about you, it says

" Mothers often complain that their babies seem fussy at the breast, won't latch on, or cry unless they're given a bottle. This is nipple confusion. If you want to stop this visious cycle and contiune breastfeeding, lay off the bottle feeding. you may only have to wait another few weeks until your baby is more neurologically mature"
I just took that straight out of the book it is called So that's what thy're for!
