Jake is on Carnation Good Start when he gets his one bottle a day. So, Karen is right when she said that picky babies will take it...because he hated the Enfamil and didn't do too great on the Similac.

If you want to continue bfing, then disregard my comments about introducing formula...the ladies are 1000% right...the less you use, the less your body will make. I am doing a slow wean now with Jake so by the time I go back to work in August, he will be on 100% formula. I work graves as a police officer with a partner and there was NO WAY I could pump enough to keep my supply up. Most times I would find myself at the jail or at a crash site for hours with rock hard leaking breasts...and pumping in the car with my partner with some idiot in the back...
not a comfortable experience!

I hope you find a way to continue nursing is that is what you want to do. I think it is awesome to nurse until they are old enough for cow's milk. But, if you can't, please dont beat yourself up over it. You are mama and you know best

PS. I also have a Medela and it works wonders.

Another thing to remember when you go back to work...

You will be a little STRESSED OUT being a new mom & working!! Stress CAN decrease your milk production. Take deep breaths & try to slow down & relax when you feel stressed. Drink drink DRINK your water... keep a water bottle at your side whenever possible.

I returned to work when DS#1 was 3mos old. I had created a "stash" of EBM in my freezer starting around week 12 (when I was still home). When he finished eating in the AM, I would settle him down & then PUMP asap. I would pump again about 30min later. (you produce more milk in the AM). Then by the time he was ready to eat again about 1.5-2hrs later... I had "refilled".
They have great breast milk storage bags with zip tops. Get out as much air as you can, zip them up & freeze them FLAT since they're easier to store that way & quicker to thaw out. You can keep frozen breast milk in your freezer for 3-6mos.

I would talk to HR before you go back & see what you can work out. Keep a picture of your baby in your pumping bag... it'll be easier for you to "let down" your milk if you look at the pic when pumping.
