I tried being out of the house while DH tried the bottle. He wasn't as good at finagling as I was/am so DH was never able to do it, all he managed to do was get her outfit soaked and milk all down the face

I had to try a zillion nipples. I finally got a nipple that supposedly simulated a breast. (the evenflow ultra I think) and that sorta worked. I would have to hold her close and tight as if I were going to nurse, (and have a cloth diaper scrunched between me and the bottom of her head to catch all the dribbles), and then somehow angle the bottle into her mouth as if it were actually coming from my breast

I swear, she'd fight and deny it for quite some time but I would keep at it. (but I would also try when she wasn't quite to the starving stage so she wasn't frustrated with hunger pangs).

She would take about 1 oz, while letting 1 oz (or more) dribble down the side. she was a horrible bottle baby. Very inefficient.
then I would continually dry daily (sometimes every other day) once a day and as the weeks went on, she would fight it less and less.
Finally, I got it to the point where I didn't have to have a special hold, and do all the special finagling and DH was able to do some of the bottlework himself.

I was against latex due to the possibility of allergies, but Erin absolutely refused anything else. We even tried to reintroduce the silicone ones once she got very good at the bottle and she started to refuse again!

yes, you still need to relieve your breasts at the appropriate nursing times - even if you use a bottle.
