Thanks gals! I set up a little changing station in my bathroom and have started a system today. I clean his bottom with warm, wet cotton balls instead of wipes all together, and have been rotating the milk of magnesia and balmex each change. I am changing him after each feeding, which like I said before is like every 2 hours. It does seem like the redness isn't as bright, but still feels raised up. If it doesn't get better soon I'll go ahead and call the ped and see what he says, but I'd rather try this route first.
Thanks for all the great advice gals!!!

Oh, and if I have to I'll start changing him between feedings too, needed or not, just to get a fresh diaper on him. And I'm not eating anything acidic, actually I've been eating a very bland diet. I do take a lot of dairy, so if it doesn't clear up I'll start to cut that back to see if it's the milk and all doing it. I hope not though, I'm a milk junkie!

I had to give up milk (and I'm a milk junkie myself) because it was horrible for my poor babies... they had the worst gas because of it!

I've never known a breastfed baby to not have runny diapers. As for the rash, my daughter is just getting over an awful one. We left her naked, changed her frequently and used barrier creams and it would not go away. Looked up pictures and descriptions and realized it was yeast. I bought some Lotrimin and it cleared up quickly.
