Default Thrush and other stuff

Is it possible for me to have Thrush on my breast the baby not have it. I have a ton of pain when she nurses but she doesnt have any white stuff in her mouth. She is also not nursing as much (which is making me very sad

) so I dont know if it is tasting bad or what the deal is. I wanted to nurse her till she was 2 but that isnt looking good right now. She is down to 2 nursing sessions a day that are lasting around 5 minutes each

I dont mind having just the 2 nursing sessions but the fact that she doesnt seem interested bothers me. Does anyone have any advice for me???

Corinne.

You may have clogged ducts where Hannah isn't nursing as often?

Also, some babies just naturally self wean when they are ready.
I wanted to nurse Nick until his first birthday but he started biting around 8 or 9 months and I just couldn't get him to stop.

I'm sure the other ladies can help.

does thrush make the milk taste bad? my daughter had thursh (she's 7 weeks old almost) and i've been giving her nystatin and putting it on my breast before nursing her, but i've noticed she won't nurse as long and makes faces alot... i couldn't tell if she's going through a growth spurt or if it just tastes bad

I'm not sure how to make her want to nurse more, are you giving her a bottle or other suplement? if so maybe take that out so that she will want to nurse more. If you have thrush she will most likley have it to
brandimichelle, my ds is just getting over a case of thrush. I dont think it taste bad but their mouths get sore, so eating makes it feel worse. although my doctor told me to make sure and wipe the nystatin off of my breast before feeding him.
