Unhappy Weaning is NOT going well

I swear Mia has decided that she just isn't going to be weaned. She's nursing more now than she was 3 weeks ago!!!

This morning she nursed 5 times (one side each time) between 7am and 11am!!!!!!!

She ate a huge breakfast -- scrambled eggs and toast and had a sippy cup of water, and still nursed that much!!!! How in the world will I ever wean this baby? I wish I didn't have to worry about this. I'm sure she would nurse until she is at least 2. Any ideas?

well, how are you weaning?
she should have a semi-schedule, right?
drop one of the easier drinks. (middays are the easiest)
When she doesn't ask for that anymore, drop another. (morning is easiest)
But you have to make up excuses and NOT be available and do some serious distracting to break the habit.

I think it's my availability that's killing me. She sees me and starts saying "nummy nummy nummy". I've tried getting her cup and saying, "Here ya go!! Yummy water!!" She usually throws it back at me and says, "nummy nummy nummy". I have tried t.v., playing with her, feeding her, giving her the sippy cup, everything. She's so determined and she will just keep pulling at my shirt saying nummy nummy nummy...

I guess I will just continue to offer the sippy every chance I get.

I am totally in the same boat Tracy.

He just won't give it up, he is persistent and if I try to offer him something else he throws it at me.

I am sorry I am no help.

BTW I just LOVE your new siggy.
