Default What is up with me???

My pumping has gone
so now I go to the day care and nurse my little angel!
(not that bad, but still- next week will be harder to do so) my problem is, I had her home and didn't pump with her, just fed her, so I was 1 bottle short... and it just escalates from there) now when I pump I'm not getting a whole bunch...
I can't relax

I hope that you can get some more milk pumped! It really sucks when the pumping won't work and you need it too!

I have a big problem with relaxing also....have tried what I consider everything at my disposal here and nada. Then a couple of nights ago I realised something. If I am sitting there in a quiet room just looking at the baby or his picture or such, my letdown will not come on at all.....maybe when left alone with my thoughts I stress without realizing it. Then I sat in my living room and talked with Kyle (DH) the whole time that I was pumping and letdown happened like *that*. I thought that it was a fluke but tried it another day and then went back to the quiet room and nothing again. I think that talking to dh completely took my mind off of the thought "come on letdown, make magic" and helped me relax completely.

Nicole, I had the same problem before and I solved it by talking on the phone while I pumped. It was a casual way to enjoy my time with my SIL who lived 1,000 miles away. I've seen your posts reminding other moms that Bf'ing is supply and demand. When pumping, you need to keep going longer and longer to continue to get a certain amount because the pump is much less efficient and the breasts don't get the hint to produce as much. Good Luck! My doctor also suggested nipple stimulation to get things going with the milk, but I haven't had to try that yet. Good Luck!
