when will the engorgement ease up?

Default when will the engorgement ease up?

sigh..... it's making me sick to my stomach a bit! i can't remember, when should it ease up? the books say 24 hrs-- but it's been a day and a half now... poor lyla is getting having a hard time at night when she is sleepy getting used to the super speed flow

and needless to say every 3 hrs I feel ready to EXPLODE

i remember those days..shudder.

mine lasted about 4 days. the start of the 4th day it started to ease up.

it was so hard to get Lola latched during that time because my nipples were almost flat because how big and hard my breasts were. hot showers helped me a lot during that time too.

did you pump at all during the time? the lactation consultant told me to pump to 'relief' only and today i've done that a bit and it helps.... i'm just using my hand pump for that right now and in like 5 pumps I have an ounce

oh yes,

in the beginning i pumped 2 - 3 times a day.
although, some say it may make the engorgement worse, but it really was a relief for me. they would hurt and ache so badly and after 5 mins of pumping, i would get almost 4 oz out of each boob and the pain stopped almost immediatly. although, my nipples ached long after the engorgement was gone.
