I only hold mine when Xavier is laying next to me and nursing, as he's getting to the point where he's getting distracted and pulling off and looking around, and when he goes to latch back on, he cannot get my nipple, so therefore I have to hold it to keep it level with his mouth.
During the day though, I use the cross cradle hold, and I dont need to hold it.

I've never held my boob, but then I'm only a 34DD, so they're not that big considering I'm BF (used to be 32A, so to me they're very big!!)

When I first started breastfeeding I had to hold my breast because it would cover the babies nose, but then after a couple of weeks he was fine.

Just in the beginning. Now that she is older it isn't necessary. Head control has a lot to do with it. Plus she sort of knows what she is doing now.
