What are the rules where you live when it comes to bringing home made goodies to school?

I grew up in Oregon and when I was still early in grade school, they made laws that prohibited home made goodies from being brought to school. The cake walks at our festivals all had to be store bought cakes, the cupcakes parents were to bring in for birthdays (if they wanted to bring something in) had to be store bought...
Nothing was allowed in school that was home made.
That law is still in effect in Oregon.

I moved down to California and was suprised that home made goodies were allowed to be brought in. Here I thought that California was so 'on top of things' and they were still allowing such --- contamination ---

We just moved to Washington and sure enough.... the laws are the same in Oregon. No home made goodies are allowed to be brought in to schools. They all have to be store bought.

What are the rules where you live???

I honestly don't know but the last time I'd heard, our schools here did not want us to bring goodies of any kind into the school.
