Default Had the "Essure" procedure! and update...

Hey guys- I hope everyone is doing well- I haven't had much time to post lately, but I don't want the boards to die so I am going to try and make more of an effort! I had the "Essure" tubal occlusion procedure done on Friday. It is where they stick little inserts inside your fallopian tubes and over the course of 3 months scar tissue builds and then---wahhhlahhh- no more birth control! Haha! I was a little nervous about it because they had to knock me out and i have never been under before, but there was no surgery so that is good. It all went very smoothly and once I got to the surgery center they made me feel very comfortable. The whole procedure only took like 20 minutes and I was able to go home in a little over an hour after it was done. Some cramping and light bleeding, but really no big deal. I was a little tired until about 24 hours after the procedure, but it really was pretty easy! I am SO glad that I did it! LeAnn had it done a couple of years ago as some of you may remember- and I contacted her on f/b to ask her about it as well.

Hope and Ryan are just incredible! Hope is 26 months and Ryan is already 8 months old! Hope continues to talk up a storm (9 word sentences!) and amaze us everyday with her understanding and sense of humor. Ryan is SO close to crawling- he does this roll/crawl thing that is just adorable. He is just a big goofball like his sister! They are so cute together! We went to the LA County Fair a couple of weeks ago and Hope had SO much fun looking at all of the farm animals that she has seen in books and on TV- she is still talking about it. Mark and I also just celebrated meeting 5 years ago in September- 5 years and 2 kids later, lol! Talk more soon!

Great to hear from you! Glad that the procedure went so smoothly. If you don't mind, how do they determine when the procedure has worked? Ultrasound?

It is cool in theory, but I'm still on board for making DH take the bullet if we decide on anything permanent. LOL!

I hope the boards pick up somehow or at least our core group maintains activity! I love FB but this is so much more intimate plus having been here forever, I hate to see such a good thing ever end.

They do an HSG after 3 months to make sure your tubes are blocked. My DH is such a baby that I chose to do this instead of having have him FREAK out over a vasectomy, lol.

LOL! I had my tubes tied after my c/section so I didn't have to talk DH into it!

I'm glad you and your babies are doing great . Keep posting when you can!
