Default Horrible xmas :(

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I, otoh, did not...first one in 7 years. I feel absoulutely horrible. This year was the year speding it w/ his family, but I have some issues going on w/ my BIL, so DH suggested it might be better spending Xmas w/ my aunt and my parents.. So after telling my aunt that its his family this year, I called and let her know if the offer still stands, we will coming up for Xmas this year. She was ecsatic. Xmas morning, we go open presents, go to his parents to exchange....I made breakfast when we got home. During making bfast, DH suggested that I might be going up there alone b/c he had bathroom issues and didnt think he would make the 1 1/2 drive up there. I was heartbroken. I was torn. He mentioned how I already made the commitment so just go. ( He looked like cr@p and I figured he would nap the entire day. I leave to go up to see my aunt/uncle and my parents. My parents brought their gifts since we didnt have time on the usual Xmas eve night. He texts me wondering if I made it okay and to text him when I leave. I get home at 8, hes making his steak dinner and blows up! I totally walked into a hurricane. Yelling at the girls that the house is a mess...to clean it up, then blows up at me. He felt as though it wasnt his place to tell me NOT to go, but he thought I would make the right decision. I feel absoultely horrible. Im oblivious w/ this kinda stuff but he TOLD me to go. I hated not being w/ him on xmas. I feel as though I should just dismiss whats going on w/ me and his brother, so he at least deserves that. I can apoligize until Im blue in the face, but still doesnt change the fact that he had a cr@ppy xmas, spending it alone, being sick.

Oh Danielle, you poor thing! Sorry you had to deal with that.

But honestly, if he felt that sick, why make you and the girls suffer? My husband would have told me to go ahead as well, but I don't think he would have been upset about it later. I think having me and 2 kids around while he wasn't feeling well would make it worse.

This whole week his folks have been here and 3x now, including Christmas dinner last night, he spends outside around the grill or fryer talking with the men folk, leaving me to deal with the kids, so I don't think spending time away from us really would have been that big a deal. He would be more upset he missed out on drinking beer and doing manly stuff. Frankly, I was pretty pissed off myself over all that.

Kendall was running a fever on & off all day yesterday and stayed home from daycare today with my mother-in-law while I am work...and starting to feel sick myself.

Christmas is always crazy and just exponentially makes already crazy situations even crazier!

My wife and I get into it a lot and it mainly has to do with our methods (or lack) or communication.

Focus on the good stuff, don't let this pull you down!
