Feel free to pm me. I was molested by a family member as a young teenager, so I identify strongly with your daughter's situation.

I agree with Beth putting them out here is very risky and you are very smart to only send them to a few people that you know because IMO you do not want it to interfere with your case at all. (I don't think that it will, but just in case).
I am so sorry this happened to her and your whole family. I am so relieved that she was able to tell you and you took care of it and had him arrested. A lot of people would not do that. You are both very strong women.

I don't like what the judge is asking of your daughter. Is this common in molestation cases? I think most kids would have very confused feelings about what they think the sentence should be. Even as an adult, I'd want to see him in pain for doing what he did, but at the same time released because he was somebody I'd loved. It doesn't seem right that the judge is putting this burden on her.

It wasn't the judge that asked us to do it. It was the DA and she didn't ask my daughter specifically she asked any of our family members that wanted to. She said the more the better cause then that is more of a chance if him getting more time. My daughter wanted to write the letter. She wants him to get as much time as possible and she said if her writing a letter would help that happen then that's what she would do.
