Talking tunnels?

What do you do when you go thru a tunnel?

Do you hold up a finger?
Hold your breath?
Honk your horn?

What are the 'traditions' when going thru a tunnel?

When I was a kid, we held up our finger and tried to hold our breath thru the tunnel.
When I moved to CA, I found out that alot of people honk their horns in the tunnel

We used to hold our breath too! Who ever held it the longest was able to "punch" a person of their choosing!!!

We have 2 in our city going under the bay-way, it's such a way of life that all I do is turn the CD on so I can hear some music.
There are signs posted saying no horn honking, I'm not sure why though?

Kelly, I've been stuck in it a couple of times during a wreck, talk about claustrophobia after a while, eek!

we have tunnels all over too -
(and bridges going over all the rivers everywhere)

And there were quite a few tunnels in the SF bay area as well -

And it was interesting to find that people did things differently.
Andrew thows a fit if we don't go thru at least one tunnel when we're driving somewhere.
