  • Plan on buying a home warranty?? we bought one when we bought our house and it was a great thing. it covers everything from my washer and dryer to plumbing in the house. so I was just courious if any of you have looked into one??

  • We didn't buy one with our newly constructed house as it came with a year warranty and well...everything is new.

We did however offer one with the sale of our last house. It was one of the things that made the buyers pick ours over others they were considering.

  • We had one on this house when we bought it but it didn't cover as much as we thought it would--and the things that broke weren't covered.

So we didn't buy one on the new house this time. Not worth it, in my opinion.

  • The 2 realtors- the one who sold and ours, split the cost of the warranty. We never used it.

  • Kinda the same things as above - our realtor paid for the warranty on ours as an added perk to get our house sold.

She is a friend and her dh was our new house contractor so she had reason to get our house sold ASAP.
