I hope she just sells it and takes responsibility. That stinks!

Well, especially since 100% of the money was used for an addition/remodel to her house. So it did raise the value significantly. I hope that she does the right thing too.

It's a problem because she had always done well with investments and such, but with the economy, money that was supposed to last her 20 years is going to last 5-7 tops. So although she can pay the 1st mortgage, she needs to learn to live on less now so tht her money will last longer. I think her plan is to try to refinance the 1st mortgage for 30 years to stretch her payments out more. She really really really really does not want to move. At this point i guess it might not be so bad for her to do that because at least when I sell the house, I can put the money on the mortgages.

She's making this a lot of fun by saying stuff like 'maybe I'll just drop dead and everything will be great."

I can't stand negative people like that! My dad is the same way, always saying, "I'm worth more dead than alive!" and stupid stuff like that. Grrrrr!!!
