  • I dont spend money on myself but I will spend money on the kids!

We're pretty lucky. Laurens birthday is October and Roberts is January and we always get lots of clothes for their birthdays and Christmas. It helps with the school year for my dd for sure!

Since we had been paying for two homes for the last 10 months (relocated out of state and just today sold our house!) I have been totally restricted as far as any extra spending. Everything has been very budgeted. We had to plan for school clothes this year in advanced. Thankfully we're in escrow now and things will ease up a bit...just in time for our "busy" shopping season!

  • I budget $50 a month and if I don't spend it this month I just add it to the next month. I try to buy clothes at Target on sale, and at Costco. Costco actually has some great deals on baby rompers, I just saw some Carters 1 piece rompers for Fall/Winter for $6.99 a piece, and they always have blanket sleepers for much cheaper than the stores. I also try to borrow clothes, unfortunately my niece has caught up with DD and so we can't borrow my other niece's clothes anymore and DS has caught up with my friend's DS and we can't borrow their clothes anymore

  • This is my area of weakness too...

However, I do a lot of Ebay shopping for their Gap and Gymboree stuff and get great deals on them. The rest I try to buy on sale....I only make a few exceptions for non-sale items, like jeans for them that fit really well, or a really cute pair of shoes. Both girls have Fall Birthdays, so they usually get a good Fall/Winter start with Birthday presents.
