  • I'm trying to figure out what I am going to do for Kimmie's 6th birthday. I wanna keep it fiarly inexpensive, but still a lot of fun. My first idea was to share a party with her dad, and thereby reduce costs, but he doesn't want to do that. So then I thought I would do a prty at McDonald's, buit they want $7/kid and teh only thing it includes besides the Happy meal is a cheap cake and even cheaper "favors". I was told I could just come in with a group of kids and do my own thing, but there was no guarentee I would be able to find tables together. Either way we would have to deal with lots of general public children in the play area.
I wish we could do an outside party, then I'd just it at my house, but her birthday is in February, so it will probably be pretty cold.
She wants a butterfly theme. I was thinking I might be able to make wings for all the kids to wear. And I could make some cute cupcakes to save money. I'm just really at a loss as to where to have the party. Anyone have any cheap ideas?

  • Janine,
What about the Fun & Games place over at the Riverwalk? You could probably get coupons for tokens in the phone book or online. And you can reserve a table there so you can do cake and presents, and then you can buy tokens for the kids to play games (in lieu of party favors). It's not nearly as big as the one on Memorial used to be, but we've been to a party there before and it was nice.

  • You could do homemade butterfly invitations, coffee filter butterflies to decorate, butterfly cake, play butterfly games, etc. It will be great!

    Check out the ideas here:

  • How about something like "butterfly tag" -- just make up some fluttery rules...

Maybe you could get some beads and make some butterfly jewelry that was also the goodie/treat bag prize....

My mom called a farm for my sister and they did a sleigh ride and cocoa for a January party!! Cheap and fun!!
