What kinds of investments do you have? Mutual funds? 401(k)? Stocks? Bonds?

I have my state retirement fund which rocks.
 


I also do monthly savings bonds for me and the kids.

DH has a 401K with some outside IRA (??) investments.

We both have a couple life insurance policies that will be rolled over into something that will work as retirement monies. I couldn't begin to explain it as I don't really understand.
 
BUT, we trust the guy 150%!!

It's definately time to schedule an appointment with the financial advisor we worked with a few years back. So much has changed.

We have Andy's 401(k) and Sarah's 529 Plan (which we're cancelling until we're out of debt--then we'll do an ESA). I have a small amount in the state retirement fund, but nothing near able to live on later.

Once we're out of debt next year, we plan to start investing in growth-stock mutual funds (per Dave Ramsey's advice) and may consider a real estate investment.

Oh, I guess our house is huge investment. We were able to use dh's contacts and build at cost to the contractor, plus we did all the painting and drywall ourselves.

The day we closed we had a huge amount of equity already built up.
 


We hope/plan to do this again in a year and a half...then again...then again.
 
Our hope/prayer is that we can do it enough to eventually build and move into our dream home with little to no mortgage!
