Thumbs down Major grocery bummer

We went on our vacation to the Caribbean Cove in Indianapolis this weekend. It was great fun and the girls were FANTASTIC sleeping in the hotel.

When we got home, we realized that a breaker in the electric box had tripped and our refrigerator was OFF for most of the time we were gone.

So we had to throw out almost EVERYTHING in the fridge/freezer. Talk about a budget killer!

Andy went to the grocery to get the essentials but it'll take a while to build back up to where we were before. We can't live on pickles and milk forever.

big bummer.
My fridge broke last year and we lost alot of food.
That is one of the reasons why we don't have a freezer or extra fridge in the garage. They all seem to break or something happens that makes them not work right at the worst times. I'd hate to have so much $ invested in frozen food to have it all go bad, kwim?

that is a big bummer, depending on your deductable on your homeowners insurance they might cover it. DHs uncle had this happen once and they covered his fridge and extra freezers worth of food.
