WTG! Whenever DH pays for something he always just give bills and whatever change he has at the end of the day goes in a big plastic cup....once that gets full he puts in an empty water cooler. One time it was half full and used that $ for spending cash on our cruise.

Our change cup isn't all that big, so whenever we count it up, it is usually anywhere from $50-$80. We've been doing it for years & the $$ gets used for different things. Sometimes Dh lets me use it to buy new shoes or clothes for myself, spending $$ for a night out (read as alcohol!!), special date night, stuff for the cars like oil, new spark plugs or something, etc. We really should save it up all year so we can use to take a vacation or something, that would be nice.

DH has a big water jug and daily empties his pockets. Because I rarely carry change in my pockets, the change is used as I make purchases.

We have a few change jars around. I have one in our kitchen that I throw some change in and sometimes $5.00 bills or $1.00 bills so if we need change for delivery or something it is there. Also when we pay for delivery (which we haven't been doing much takeout lately) we throw any change left over from that into the jar for.

DD has one of those jars that counts the change when it goes in and we put a lot of the change in there especially the ones from DH's pockets and then we roll it eventually and deposit it in the bank. We just did that and she had $44.00 and I told her she could put half in the bank and keep the other half because she wanted to buy something. I am proud to say she still has $18.00 of the $22.00 left because she was being very smart about what she wanted to buy. It is amazing how frugal they are when it is their money to spend.
