Default "walking money"

I was reading "Parents" magazine, and an interesting topic was brought up that I'd never thought about before. Someone's mother had said that every woman should have some "walking money" set aside, in case they had to get out in a hurry. The financial analyst said that it was actually a good idea to have an account with your own money in it, but she suggested that you are open with your husband about it, and offer him the same opportunity.
So... do you have any "walking money?" Do you have your own bank account?
Of course, most of us think we're happily married and that we'd never be in a situation like that, but really you never know.
I've never thought about it. I mean really, dh could, if he wanted to, completely wipe us out and I'd have nothing to say about it because all of our names are on all our accounts.

I read that same thing in Parents. The same theory about your husband could be true for me, too---I could just as easily wipe out all the accounts and leave while DH is at work.

I personally don't have "walking money" and I think the idea is an insult to marriage.

I think the same thing about prenuptual agreements.

I think that most people think their marriage is solid/perfect and that most people think their husbands would never do x or y.
I don't have any, but I also don't think it's an "insult to marriage" especially for a sahm, who really has no income of her own if God forbid, something should happen.

I don't have any walking $$ and neither does DH. We pool our money (both incomes) together...

On our $$, no one would be able to walk too far!!
