Question Wedding gift

How much do you give for a wedding gift? We had a wedding this past weekend and my sister is getting married this upcoming weekend.

If you give cash/check, how much do you give? Does it vary depending on how well you know the person, if you're in the wedding, if you're related, or do you just give a set amount regardless of relationship?

It usually depends on how well we know the person, if it is a very good friend or close family member it is about $100.00 otherwise around $50.00 - 75.00

I usually base it on what I think the bride and groom are paying per plate. We will give anywhere between $100-150 depending on who it is, etc.

I'm cheap I guess. I always give a hand made present I make with their wedding announcment. Usually I frame it in a box frame, and then glue tiny dried flowers around the edge of the announcment. It probably costs me about 30 dollars per gift to make.

I do NOT give cash.

And my price usually depends on how well I know the person.
For my family members, I usually do something homemade or cheap because invariably, I've already spent a fortune on bridesmaid dresses etc.

for long time friends, I spend between $ 30-50,
if it's an aquaintance or a work friend, then it's usually around the $30 mark.
