 Day 12 in Lilly's Life....a miracle

MAY | Day 12 - First Negative Culture

Lilly has had a very good last 24 hours. She gained 50 grams to 720 total, she has started having BM's without help from the suppository, she is digesting her food drip with very little residual and her billirubin level is maintaining at a level that doesn't require her to be under the lights. Lilly's breast milk drip will be increased to 1.5 mil per hour today at 1 pm and will be increased again tomorrow morning by .7 mil. This is really good news, she's on her way now to eventually being able to have the PIC line removed. That will be a big day for her.
The blood culture came back with a negative for infection this morning so the 7 day antibiotic regime will start today. Her blood cultures will continue to be monitored and as long as the infection doesn't turn up positive again she'll be out of the woods as far as the infection is concerned.
Lilly continue's to have respiratory events (8 in the last 24 hours) so they decided to increase her air flow a bit to help stimulate her breathing. We've been told that the events will likely continue until she is at approximately 34 weeks gestation. KEEP PRAYING GIRLS THEY'RE WORKING!!!!!!
