16 Days Old - Brand New Clothes By Levi Lynn

Lilly has had a relatively smooth last 24 hours although she has continued to have quite a few events, 11 since yesterday. Several of her events required some stimulation and or a bump of oxygen to get her blood oxygen saturation back up to the 90% to 100% range. The respiratory specialist decided last night to put her back on the Vapo-therm breathing support system which will provide her with more flow. Hopefully this will help cut down on the amount of events per day, she'll be weened off of the Vapo-therm over the next few days back to the nasal canula.

Lilly has lost a few grams to 780, down 20 from yesterday. She had 6 stools, normal urine output and she's up to 75% of her total feeds required for her body weight. She is tolerating the increased feeds really well with only small amounts of residual which is perfectly normal.

The blood culture that was taken on the 20th, the same day the PICC line was removed, came back positive today for the infection but the cultures that were started on the 21st and 22nd continue to test negative. This pretty much validates that the infection source was from the PICC line. This is good news but it does set her back 1 day on the antibiotic regime. She's in her 4th day of antibiotics now from the 1st day of negative culture.

Tiphanie noticed some swelling in Lilly's legs yesterday, so the Dr. ordered a chest x-ray today and some blood work tomorrow AM. He'll make a diagnosis of the problem and decide how to treat her for it after he's analyzed the results.

Lilly got a visit from Aunt Trisha last night and a visit from Grandma Candy and Grandpa Nick today. Grandma brought her some really nice new clothes just her size and a baby blanket quilt. We'll wash up the new clothes and try them on her in the next day or so. She gets to see Grandma Darlene just about every day.

Lilly loves to get visitors and usually opens her eyes to take a look and say hi.
