Ladies, for the love of children everywhere . . . This is a copy of a bulletin I posted to my MySpace page. We must be the voices for children who cannot speak for themselves. Unfortunately, it's really too late for the poor babies who were subjected to this exploitative crap. PLEASE help me in boycotting NBC's new reality show, "The Baby Borrowers" which premieres tonight. The premise is to show teenagers how difficult parenting really is. Was anyone thinking of the stress and trauma this places on the babies?? It doesn't matter that it was "only 3 days" - that three days may as well have been three years to those babies who, for all intents and purposes, believe that mommy and daddy are gone forever.
Zero to Three and The Natural Child Project have already campaigned against this atrocity, to no avail. I plan to e-mail my local NBC affiliate (for whom two members of my family used to work) and NBC Universal and express my disgust.
Please do the same so that the television industry knows that it is NOT OK to exploit our most defenseless members of society to teach others a lesson, for profit to boot!!!
Thanks!
