Lilly and I did Kangaroo Care for about an hour yesterday, she did really well, rested good and maintained great vital stats. She was wide awake and really alert to visit with
us last night for her cares. She sucked continuously on her binky for a few minutes for mom and had a little breast milk treat on her binky. We really enjoy doing her cares each night, last night we could really tell that she was recognizing
us.
Lilly Gained 34 grams yesterday to 1,068 total grams. She had only 1 event yesterday, it was a pretty minor event though since her heart rate didn't dip below 100. It still qualified as an event because her oxygen saturation dropped to 79%, a few percentage points below the 85% threshold.
The vapotherm was turned down to 1.5 liters per minute yesterday and she thrived. They plan to lower her VT again today to 1 liter which is pretty much the lowest they can go with the VT. The VT starts to drip water at low velocities because the air has such high humidity. They plan to keep an eye on it real close,
if they have any problems with water dripping they'll put her on a regular nasal canula.
Lilly's feeds will be increased again today by 1 mil per hour to 5 mil's per hour. She should be back to full feeds of 7 mil per hour by Tuesday, as long as she continues to digest it all with small residuals. We'
re still waiting for her first poo to come since she was started back on her feeds last Wednesday. The Dr. isn't too concerned though because she isn't on full feeds yet and her stomach still feels really soft.
Grandma and Grandpa Lynn came for a visit today. Lilly gets to try on some handmade socks specially made in her tiny size. We'll be posting a bunch of pictures tonight from the last few days. We've been taking pictures but haven't posted too many the last couple of days.
