MAY | 2 Weeks - 4th Kangaroo Care

Lilly has been doing really well the last 24 hours. Her weight this morning has gone up to 830 grams but there is some concern that yesterdays reading may have been in accurate. Also she got to go on another field trip for more Kangaroo Care last night. We think she really likes getting to spend time with mommy. Her heart rate gets nice and steady and calm.
Lilly has been running a bit low on her blood oxygen level and her plateletts are a bit low so she'll get a blood trasfusion today. This will be her 2nd transfusion and we expect this will be a real good thing for her. Also her foods will be increased to just about 2/3 of the amount food she needs based on her body weight. Her billirubin level has gone up to 7.1 but they are going to wait until tomorrow before they put her back under the lights.
Lilly's canula flow has been increased to 1.5 liters per minute with any where from 21% to 30% oxygen. This should help her be able to maintain a more consistent blood oxygen level. We'
re hoping that this will also help decrease the frequency of her respiratory events. She had 9 events the last 24 hours, so she is having a bit fewer events now.
Since she is tolerating almost 2/3 of her required food intake the Dr. thinks that she may get up to 100% of the required feeds in the next couple of days.
If she gets there he said he will probably not put a new PIC line back in. She'll only need the IV
if she gets to that point for her Antibiotics for the next 6 to 9 days, assuming the infection doesn't show back up.
We are very encouraged by Lilly's progress today and feel real good about the changes that will be made with her care today.
