Lilly gained 78 grams to 1588 total grams or 3 lbs 8 oz. At this rate and now that she's on full feeds she'll be breaking into the 4 lb range real quick. She had 4 BM's yesterday and NO respiratory events.
About an hour into Lilly's blood transfusion yesterday her IV for her nutrition failed. They went ahead with the transfusion but speeded it up by an hour. Since she was close to full feeds and tolerating it well they decided not to do another IV and to just go ahead and discontinue the IV nutrition.
The blood cultures taken on the 21st and 22nd both are negative so far so the Dr. will restart the timeline for the antibiotics from the 21st. The cycle will go for 10 days. Right now she seems to be doing really well with everything, she's got good color, she's digesting her food real good, she's pooping regularly (thank you all for your help with that), and she has great energy when she's awake.
We are really happy to see her doing so well with so few connections to support. Right now she just has the vitals monitors, a light flow thu her nasal canula, and a peripheral IV in her head that is used to give her antibiotics evey so often but is capped when it's not being used for her meds. She's really close to full feeds, by tomorrow she'll be on full feeds and by Wednesday she'll start getting increased calories in her feeds.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. I really enjoyed reading Tiphanie's posts the last couple of days and will try to talk her into doing a few more posts here and there.
