55 Days Old - First Bottle

By Levi Lynn

Lilly is still rollin along really good, she's been reachin milestones pretty regularly now. Lilly gained 21 grams to 1,724 grams or 3 lbs 12.8 oz, she had a few minor desat events last night. Today she got moved into her crib for the first time. Her crib is a really small crib as far as crib's go but she looks so tiny inside of it that the crib looks too big for her. I'll try to get some pictures that give some prospective of size. She's a tiny little bundle of joy.

Also today Tiphanie tried her on the bottle again and she ate half of it. Apparently the bottle that was used this time didn't allow as much milk to get through so it was a bit easier for her. It won't be long and she'll be up to full feeds on the bottle and won't need the feeding tube into her stomach.

The new Dr. for the week is trying a different strategy to ween her down off of the oxygen and flow. Yesterday the Opthomologist gave her second and final ROP exam and determined that her retinas have developed normally and there is no longer any threat of ROP. The Dr. decided to turn the flow way down and turn the oxygen way up. This will help the repiratory therapist be more flexible in the way that the oxygen and flow mix is adjusted.
