the house we live in now is 2 years old. Built in 2003. And believe it or not, we were not the first people to live here. A couple lived here for one year and then they transferred cross country and we bought the house last year.
But the way they lived in it --- it might as well be brand new because I swear the couple must have only slept in the house as not a thing was touched anywhere.

We own another house that was built in the 1960s and it has had several owners and has been remodeled several times. (and now it has tenants so there will be many people living in this house)

hmph. I think he also thinks that *I* will be the one doing the fixing up of those houses and he'll sit back and complain that I'm not doing it fast enough.

Ours was built in 1997. we bought it in the fall of '97, about 8 months before we were married. This way, as we started to get stuff together, we just brought it right to the house. I didn't want to rent it for 8 months 'cause you never know what your tenents will do. Plus, that is a short time for renting.
