like the people watching the news station about the airplane found on the bottom of the ocean. where the people who called in doing it simultaneously to what was happening on the island? or was it in the future (like when the Oceanic 6 were rescued and living back in the states? ) or what?

Dh thinks they were all flashbacks....i think that maybe they were both..some back some forward.

I think maybe they saw the news with the underwater plane before the 4-some was formed and sent on their mission to get Ben for whatever reason. BUT why?? Wonder why they are looking for Ben? He is obviously afraid of them..for him to shoot that archeologist twice in the chest!!

i don't understand their connection to Ben? Didn't ben grow up on the island? how does he know these people? and how do they know him?

So all the "rescuers" are bad??

well, Ben had contact with the mainland.
He has had lots of people travelling to the mainland (wherever that is) for various reasons. Remember how Juliet came to the island? She was recruited... by Ethan!!
They had that submarine that they used etc.
Not sure how Ben is involved, but it sure is
