Default Court TV shows question

Does anyone watch these? Like Judge Judy or Judge Joe Borwn or whoever. I watch a show every now and then and was wondering when they order these idiots to pay money to the plaintiff do they really have to pay it? Or does the show pay it for them appearing? I've always wondered about this.

I think it's real in all regards, so that would mean the fines and everything would be legit. That's my understanding of it anyways. I could be wrong though.

I do not watch any of them. But I do like CourtTV. I watched the entire OJ trial in 1994 or 95.
