Lightbulb Summer books for 2011

A list of books coming out this summer. I included the books I'd like to read as well as those from authors our regulars like.

Children and Fire by Ursula Hegi
http://www.amazon.com/Children-Fire-...6104842&sr=8-1
The latest from the author of Stones from the River.

Faith by Jennifer Haigh
http://www.amazon.com/Faith-Novel-Je...6105005&sr=1-1
I think those of us who read Haigh's Mrs. Kimble liked it, so here's the latest from this author.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
http://www.amazon.com/Miss-Peregrine...6105082&sr=1-1
I've never read this author, but the concept of a mystery novel paired with photography really strikes my fancy.

Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand
http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Girl-No...6105195&sr=1-1
I know Hilderbrand is popular among Reading Room regulars.

State of Wonder by Ann Patchett
http://www.amazon.com/State-Wonder-A...6105255&sr=1-1
Not my usual type of story, but Patchett is a must-read author for me.

Then Came You by Jennifer Weiner
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...me+you&x=0&y=0
I think everyone will probably pick up this one, as Weiner is a common favorite.

The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson
http://www.amazon.com/Year-We-Left-H...6105371&sr=1-1
The reviews have been excellent, and I have liked this author's work in the past.

In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson
http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Beasts-...6105536&sr=1-1
Not my typical read, but Larson skillfully drew me into The Devil in the White City, so I'll give this one a spin.

Hit List: An Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Novel by Laurell K. Hamilton
http://www.amazon.com/List-Anita-Bla...6105666&sr=1-1
I think some of our readers read Hamilton, and here's the lastest.

Your Voice in My Head by Emma Forrest
http://www.amazon.com/Your-Voice-My-...6105733&sr=1-1
This memoir looks interesting to me.

Good choices. Maybe I'll get lucky and somebody will give be an B&N g/c for my birthday in Aug.

Wouldn't you just love to have the time & money to just spend the entire day in a bookstore & get all books you like? That would be a great day for me!

LOVE MY KINDLE! I pre-ordered the new Jennifer Weiner book and it was delivered to my Kindle in the middle of the night. Can't wait to get started on it!
