We had to put my sweet baby boy Cupid to sleep on Thurs 6-23-11
 
Well, he wasnt really a baby, he was 9 1/2 years old but he was my baby. I am soooooo sad still!! When does the pain go away? I have never lost an animal that I was really close to so this is a first for me. It is truly like loosing a family memeber and hurts so bad

I'm so sorry to hear that. That is the same age our Lucy was when we had to put her to sleep. It was so hard. We've had 2 dogs since her passing and she still is the BEST dog ever.

It will get easier, but you'll never forget. Anytime I see a border collie or just something reminds me of her, I still get a little teary eyed.

She was our first "baby" so I know how sad you must be feeling. Animal babies never grow up like kids. They are always ready for a cuddle, eat whatever you feed them, and love you even if their friends parents let them stay up WAY later. LOL!

Hope with each passing day it gets easier and the sadness is filled with all of the happy memories instead of the sorrow.
