Default Average number of IUI attempts?

Hiya,

I'm sure this question has been asked many times, but was wondering how many DIUI attempts is average? My

arrived today, so we start our FET cycle in about 4 weeks time. (embies made with donor sperm) If that fails, we'll be moving onto DIUI, and I was wondering how many tries we should budget for?
Our fertility probs are all male factor, I'm apparently 'text-book' (don't feel that way after 5.5 years ttc!) and they don't expect any problems. I managed to get preg 1st DICI attempt that I got the timing right, but that was with fresh swimmers.

Hugs,
Marie xx

I think it is around 6, but can happen as fast as the first time or take as many as you'll give it. Good luck with the FET cycles and I hope it works for you!!!!

They say 6 is the average...for my DIUI BFPs it took 4 tries, then 1 try, then 7 tries. So I hope you have good success quickly...w/ your FET so you will not have to worry!!!

Our clinic also reported that 80-90% of couples were pg within 6 tries...this was definitely not true in our case!

According to the success graphs, 6 is the magic number, and attempts after 6 have lower success rates. But I would imagine that is 6 attempts after all testing/procedures/meds to optimize the situation. For expample, if you did three attempts and then found that you needed injectibles to correct an ovulation problem, or a lap to remove polyps, I would not count the first three.

It took me 9 attempts total, but I got pg on my second injectibles cycle after a LOT of treatment.

GOOD LUCK!
