Default Bummed out

Well, I went to my ultra sound this morning. My 1st IVF was a bit of a flop due to the fact that my body produced not very many eggs. Unfortunately this cycle is looking just as bad at this point. My lead follicle is 12mm. My left ovary has 1 follicle and my right has 4. I am so discouraged

I was really hoping that by changing some of my meds that things would be better. I know the drill about it only takes one, but after spending15,000 I was really hoping for several. Anyway, just waiting to hear from the doc. to find out when the next ultra sound will be (my guess is tomorrow). Last time, they watched my follies every day. Sorry to vent, I was just feelinf sorry for myself and knew that all of you would understand

I know how you feel Missy. I was bummed that I had NINE on ice but only three lived after the thaw. I figured I'd have about three more trys if the 1st one didn't work then you find out you're done. Jeez! You just hang in there. Do they think if you waited another cycle you'd get more? You can always get egg donor (don't tell ANYONE) but that's what I did. I know you're young but those egg donors really can get a lot! And you don't have to do all those meds and stim and all that. You still have "some of your husband" but get to carry your own babies. There's lots to think about but you do get more chances.... I'm sorry Missy. Leslie

Leslie,

Thanks for all your help

Where do you go to get donor eggs? Is it really expensive? I have definately figured out through both these cycles that my body sucks and isn't doing what I want it to do. All along they have told us that my dh's swimmers are great quality. Maybe if we get eggs elsewhere, we might have a fighting chance. My E2 level was 246 (day 6 of cycle), but I have no idea if that is good, bad, or otherwise

I go back on sunday morning for ultrasound and blood. About the progesterone shots.....how do you know you are getting it in the right spot? I really want to do them myself (although my dh is really excited about doing them). I just know that it hurts less when I do my own injections. Thanks Missy
Glinda..congrats on the perfect family (boy and girl). You must be so excited

First Missy, you will get them in the right spot. Your nurse will show you where. Why is it that it hurts less when we do them ourselves?? Hmm.. Egg donor is expensive. You pay for all their meds, which is about 3K then you have to pay them, which I think is about 3K, unless you find your own donor. They matched us up look wise pretty good but you don't know who they are. We got 11 embryos which I think is low but hey, some worked right?? I've heard of women getting 30 and more! Your body does NOT suck! You're asking it to do something it doesn't know how to do. Tricking it with meds! You are AWESOME! And whatever path you take you're going to be a great MOM!!!
