Default Doc's take on BFN

She doens't know"...that is about the best she could say and then make some educated guesses....I told her how highly uncomfortable the transfer was b/c my bladder was about to burst and then I was left alone afterwards and I had no one to ask if I could use the bathroom yet etc. I also told her about the test-stress (my doing)...She thinks that having a non-relaxed uterus effects the numbers and is giving me valum (sp?) next time. She also recommended acupuncture, which I reminded her I had done. Also, my DH will be there next time (we didn't think he would need to be b/c they made it sound so simple) to support me more.

The other interesting guess she made was that I could of miscarried early on. She thinks that it is possible b/c miscarriage is so common early in natural and IVF cycles and b/c 80% of blasts are BFP in my clinic. She is guessing they took, but that they weren't quite right so didn't progess after the first few days.

She agreed that we should wait until after test 2 (my lisencing exam) and that we should use all three (if all three thaw properly). That will put my transfer somewhere around Turkey-Day...

Also, for those of you who went round 2, was your period 1 week late after the first cycle?? She said it is common..

Mine was late Bonnie. My Dr. didn't really have much to say after my 1st one didn't work either. I was convinced it was because I flew back to AK too early but he really didn't think that had anything to do with it. I did hang around for three day the 2nd time. Anyway, it's kind of funny you're getting transferred around T time because that's what we alway joke about "using the turkey baster".

PS He also said he couldn't believe it didn't work because I had about an 80% chance the first time and about 25% the second time. I always knew I was a little backwards. L

Sounds like some good changes agreed for the FET and a good idea to wait until after your exam (Good luck with that btw!)

The dr really can't give you an answer unless there was something terribly wrong. It really is the luck of the draw. It is also standard procedure in my clinic to give the patient a valium prior to the transfer. Maybe you want to bring a walk-man with some relaxing music too. The room was always cold which would really get my bladder going. I would stare at the clock on the wall and then scream for a nurse when the 30 minutes was up. They allow you to pee via a bed pan as soon as the procedure was over. I would wait the 30 minutes to use the toilet. I would also drink a glass a wine the evening of transfer to relax me some more.

And don't forget, we have several FET miracles here!!!!!!!
